Certified technical divers are welcomed  to dive within their training limit and beyond, (with technical diving experience), at the discretion of the dive centre.

There are many technical dive sites of interest in the Sharm area, mostly located in Ras Mohammed and Tiran.

For divers booking a week of tec dives, a different site can be explored each day.

Local: Canyon

“White Knight Canyon”. The perfect site for the first dive of the week, one of the few spectacular sites in Sharm that is dived from a mooring. The site is located in the 'local area', north of Naama Bay. Current at this site, if any, is usually quite tame, the canyon itself is well worth seeing, as a taste of what’s to come in Tiran.

Tiran: Canyon.

The most popular and accessible site in Tiran, in almost any weather conditions, is “Thomas Canyon”. Located on the south east side of Thomas reef, depths range from 35 meters at the southernmost shallowest point to 96 meters at the bottom of the chimney at the north end. Due to such variable depths, Thomas canyon is suitable for tec divers of all levels. Rock formations in the Canyon are stunning, Thomas Canyon cannot be missed.

Deep Wreck.

A less accessible site, due to its location in Tiran, on the north tip of Jackson reef, is what’s left of the bow to mid section of the “Lara”, clearly visible on top of the reef. Directly underneath is the mid to stern section, with the deck level between 62 and 67 meters, although the cargo was salvaged along with everything else before she split and slipped down the reef. To see this size of ship, in clear water, whilst dodging Hammerheads, makes for a thrilling tec dive.

Satellite reef.

“The crossing” in between Woodhouse and Jackson reef. There is a narrow finger connecting the 2 reefs together, the top of the finger at the deepest point is  35 meters, dropping off to 70 meters on the north west side. Currents can be vicious in this area, having a washing machine effect at either end of the finger. The amount and condition of corals on this site combined with the probability of close encounters with larger marine life, makes this crossing the number one dive site in Tiran.

Ras Mohammed: Deep wall.

Shark and Yolanda reefs” - said to be one of the top 10 dive sites in the world. At the right time of year, most would agree. Shark reef has a vertical wall plummeting down into the abyss. Currents in the area can be very strong, sometimes making navigation difficult, but the reef thrives in such conditions, giving Shark and Yolanda the reputation of being the most spectacular dive site in Sharm. In the summer months the site explodes with schools of Jack fish, Snapper, Bat fish, spiralling Barracuda, Black tip requiem Sharks and the odd Hammerhead here and there. Deco normally ends around the cargo from the stricken wreck “Yolanda”.

Deep Satellite reef

Ras Za’atar-Marsa Bareika - for the more experienced Trimix divers. After a descent to 90 meters, on the corner of Ras Za’atar, divers will find a deep plateau, seeming to stretch into Marsa Bareika forever. On the seaward side of the plateau is a sheer wall, dropping into the unknown..............Deep water corals are abundant on the top of the plateau and the site is renowned for Whale Shark and Manta Ray sightings in the summer months.
